SUMMARY: Responsible for directing and coordinating the management of Surgical Services (i.e., Endoscopy, Day Surgery, Surgery, and Anesthesia Services) on a 24/7 basis and CSR; trains and monitors personnel who assist physicians in preparing and performing patient surgery. Plans, organize and administers departmental service functions. Assigns duties to and evaluates staff performance; ensures staff follows physician orders. Identifies patient care issues and develops solutions. Compiles required reports and investigate complaints to resolve complaints. Hires and trains unit personnel; provides instruction for personnel on new techniques, procedures, and/or equipment. Responds to quality issues and ensures any problems are rectified. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Must possess a current Minnesota Nurses License. A minimum of three years of experience in a leadership/management role. At least two years of clinical experience in one or more areas of clinical, acute care nursing, and surgical services. Certifies in BCLS, ACLS, or other required, or the ability to obtain and maintain within one year of hire. Labor relations experience is preferred. Requires competent English written and verbal communication skills and is capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff.
