Production Scientist - DNA Modifying Enzymes (Biotech)
New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applicants for the position of Production Scientist. Reporting to the Group leader and in close collaboration with the members of the DNA Modifying Enzymes Group, the individual in this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the manufacturing of both existing and new DNA modification products. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare formulations of DNA Modification products and related reagents.
Perform standard QC protocols and carry out the testing of new QC assays.
Track and maintain stocked inventory of standard over the counter (OTC) products.
Fulfill OEM/Bulk custom orders.
Adhere to protocols and maintain proper documentation.
Assist customers with technical inquiries about DNA assembly and DNA modification products.
Work in collaboration with Research and Applications & Product Development to develop new products for commercialization.
Qualifications/ Experience:
Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience.
Experience in the life science industry preferred.
Knowledge of DNA modifying workflows and techniques.
The ability to be a team player in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including good lab notebook practices.
Proven “good hands” at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments.
