Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking an Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Planner for our Joplin, Missouri factory. The primary responsibilities of the position are to maintain Production Standards and Standard Cost in SAP, involving Machine Cycle Times and Direct Labor Requirements. Data retrieval and analysis from the SAP System, through several Data Management sections is required to assure data accuracy. Follow up will be required to assure accuracy of data and to prepare reports, both routine and special, as requested by Management.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plans and implements engineering projects, including defining the project, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, per customer requirements.
Establish procedures for product cost estimation, including data accumulation and cost estimate preparation. Develops new product cost projects.
Obtain estimates from internal and external suppliers through the purchasing group.
Support teammates in cross-functional teams to maximize the efficiency of the Costing group.
Maintain internal requirements and research possibilities of new internal and external suppliers.
Assist the planning function and the purchasing personnel at all levels in establishing inventory control systems.
Compiles information from periodicals, catalogs, and other sources to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
Obtains data for cost analysis studies by determining manufacturing costs within divisions of company.
Prepares reports, charts, and graphs of findings.
Evaluates findings and makes recommendations to purchasing personnel regarding feasibility of manufacturing or buying needed products.
Recommends use of alternative parts, materials, or manufacturing methods to reduce costs.
Maintain SAP system to control labor, material, and expenses.
Develop work standards, time standards, and other work measurement techniques for management controls.
Advise and assist management in long range planning strategies, cost reduction programs, and equipment replacement policies.
Establish procedures and perform duties to launch new products into production.

Formal prerequisites for the position (e.g. training, experience, education etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B. S.) from four-year college or university
Works independently as part of cross-functional teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance measurement systems.
