Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time faculty member to fill an Assistant Professor of Creative Arts position in the College of Arts and Sciences. This position will teach and oversee the art curriculum, as well as oversee general education courses in philosophy, creative thinking, culture, and geography. The ideal candidate will have academic and professional experience in art and creativity, with an interest in integrative liberal arts, philosophy, and culture. Academic or professional expertise in philosophy, geography, culture, or interdisciplinary studies is a plus. The candidate should have experience in teaching and curriculum design. Additional responsibilities include oversight of curriculum designed to increase the success of 100-level and general education students.
Performance Functions:
Teach a variety of art courses, as well as other courses related to creativity.
Actively engage with students and provide constructive feedback on assignments.
Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
Oversee general education courses in art, philosophy, creative thinking, culture, and geography.
Strategically plan curriculum development and scheduling of assigned courses.
Manage onsite art facilities and supplies.
Recruit, manage, and mentor adjunct faculty for assigned courses.
Develop and maintain curricula in both online and classroom formats for assigned courses.
Participate in program assessment and committee/community service.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean, Assistant Dean, or Program Director.
Qualifications/Skills:
Master of Fine Arts, or a Master or higher in Art, Creative Arts or a related field required.
