Operations Reconciliation Specialist II (Finance)



Job Summary

The Operations Reconciliation Specialist II ensures that all loan and deposit system activity is balanced and accounted for. They also process the daily and monthly review and audit of cash movement across deposit, loan, and general ledger accounts, and reconcile the corporate & investor accounts. 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Processes daily cash settlement of deposit and loan system activity.
  • Processes daily corporate deposit account settlement for consumer loan system portfolio activity.
  • Processes monthly general ledger settlement for deposit and loan system activity.
  • Processes monetary transactions to clear any settlement outages.
  • Reviews daily and monthly system generated reports to resolve any exceptions.
  • Reviews and balances investor general ledger and deposit accounts.
  • Assists teammates with proper transaction handling to prevent settlement outages.
  • Works with other departments within the bank to resolve settlement outages.
  • Reviews and reconciles activity on investor portfolio to ensure all requirements pertaining to specific investors are met.
  • Reconciles investor portfolios and ensures all reporting is submitted to investor within strict deadlines.
  • Performs bank reconciliation of various investor and loan servicing accounts, resolving any out of balance conditions.
  • Ensures loan level accuracy on core operating system.
  • Responds to investor inquiries and perform research.
  • Assists with internal and external audit responses.
  • Researches, understands, and ensures compliance with servicing agreements and regulatory guides.
  • Serves as a backup to other Loan Servicing teammates.
  • Balances individual transactions processed throughout the day and participates in departmental balancing of check requests, credit card activity and official checks.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Adheres to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.
  • Completes all mandatory annual compliance training.
  • Follows regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required:

  • 3+ years previous monetary balancing or reconciliation experience.
  • 3+ years previous mortgage loan servicing experience.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to utilize MS Office applications.
  • Ability to follow written policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet all designated deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous investor reconciliation or accounting experience.
