R&D Engineer I (Finance)

As a R&D I Engineer, you will design and develop innovative customized solutions of spinal medical device products. You will actively seek out Voice of the Customer (VOC) input and rapidly translate that into product requirements, design specifications, and mechanical concepts. You will work under general direction and the product focus will be on customized spinal implants and instrumentation to treat degenerative, deformity, and tumor/trauma conditions.
A Day in the Life
• Gathers customer input and understands use conditions of surgeon requests for customized instruments.
• Conceptualizes simple instrumentation designs or modifies existing designs that meet the expectations and uses of the customer.
• Defines and performs verification and validation activities ensuring products meet user needs and intended use.
• Prepares CAD models for 3D printing, electronic transfer, simulations, and presentations
• Creates drawings and works with procurement group for manufacturing of designs.
• Ensures personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are applicable. Follows all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
• Strong collaborator in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to multi-task and progress several projects simultaneously.
Must Have: Bachelor's Degree required with 0+ years of experience
Nice to Have
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technically related degree - Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 3D CAD modeling & drawings experience
• Ability to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with other cross-functional teammates
• Manufacturing knowledge of machining and 3D printing.
