These are excepted service appointments in the CFPB Pathways Intern Program. These appointments may be eligible for conversion to a permanent position and may be extended past 12 weeks at management discretion. The incumbent serves as a student trainee, and receives on-the-job training in the technical aspects of the organization's work.

Responsibilities
This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. As a Student Trainee (Program Assistant), you will:
Office of Director
The Office of Director is composed of four groups that work closely together to support the functions of the Director and Bureau as a whole. The four groups are Office of the Director, Office of Strategy, Office of Innovation, and Office of Equal Opportunity and Fairness.
Operations Division
The Operations Division is the operational support arm of the Bureau. The Division includes the following program offices supported by a central front office: Chief Experience Officer, Administrative Operations, Office of Human Capital, Technology and Innovation, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of Procurement, and Chief Data Officer.
Research, Markets and Regulations Division
Research, Markets & Regulations is responsible for monitoring consumer financial markets, conducting research, and writing rules. The Division includes the following program offices supported by a central front office: Research, Markets, Regulations, Mortgage Markets, Small Business Lending Markets, and Consumer Credit, Payments, and Deposit Markets.
Consumer Education and External Affairs Division
The Consumer Education and Engagement Division provides information for American consumers to consider in their financial decision making process. The Division includes four program offices supported by a central front office: Public Affairs, Stakeholder Management, Consumer Education, and Consumer Response.
Supervision, Enforcement and Fair Lending Division
Supervision, Enforcement and Fair Lending ensures compliance with federal consumer financial laws by supervising market participants and bringing enforcement actions when appropriate. It includes the Office of Supervision Examinations, the Office of Supervision Policy, and the Office of Enforcement, as well as a central front office.
