Traffic Copy Editor, KSHB (Administrative)



Are you a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? KSHB in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Traffic Copy Editor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be the vital link between our account executives, clients, and what viewers see on air. You'll ensure commercial copy is properly scheduled and help maintain the accuracy of our broadcast traffic systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Secure and enter advertising traffic instructions for advertisers

  • Process commercial copy information using ad management traffic software

  • Maintain instruction files, tape library, and various other traffic functions

  • Collaborate closely with account executives, traffic management, clients and agencies

  • Provide back-up support to the traffic log editor, ensuring commercials are scheduled in appropriate time slots

  • Help ensure engineering department has all necessary information

  • Complete additional duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1 year minimum related experience preferred

  • Previous broadcast experience especially with ad management and broadcast traffic systems (WideOrbit, OSI, etc.) desirable

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and complete work assignments in a timely, accurate manner

  • Adaptability and flexibility to shift focus in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Team orientation and experience working in collaborative environments

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving abilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standard office environment

  • May require limited overtime to cover vacations and holidays
