Landscape Construction Crew Leaders are responsible for leading crews on a variety of landscaping projects. They distribute instructions throughout the team, communicate with the Project Manager, and ensure completion of the job from start to finish according to the project outline.
Duties and responsibilities
Support the management various projects including drainage and stormwater paths retaining walls, walkways, and paver installations water features etc. Review and understand scope of work with Superintendent, and install to all necessary specifications Participate in pre-job planning with Superintendent to help ensure that projects can proceed smoothly and efficiently Accurately report project production to Superintendent Responsible for crew performance including training of landscape techs Manage team time keeping of self and landscape tech (typically a crew of 2-4) Understand the need for and exhibit the ability to adapt to meet critical deadlines Ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and the public while ensuring the work is done efficiently All team members help and support other departments when necessary, including snow removal and Christmas dcor Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Workplace Environment
Technicians should be comfortable with and have physical and manual dexterity to operate heavy equipment and use digging tools (backhoes, dump trucks, front-end loaders, small and large trenchers, shovels, augers)Must be comfortable working with digging equipment/tools; Irrigation systems are installed underground and must be excavated to specified depthsExposure to dust, grease, noise, and chemical vapors PPE is providedOutdoor working conditions in all weather conditions; must be able to work in extremely hot and cold temperaturesFrequently lift and/or move objects up to --50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects over 50(use of lifting equipment or 2-person lift over 50lbs)This position requires consistent lifting of up to 75 pounds and walking long distances daily
