Shipping and Receiving Coordinator (Los Alamos, NM) (Finance)

The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our team in Los Alamos, NM. This role is responsible for verifying and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring compliance with quality and productivity standards. The position involves a combination of manual and clerical shipping/receiving duties and requires proficiency with shipping tools, equipment, and computer software.

Your Role:

• Verify and maintain records on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Prepare items for shipment, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
• Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
• Use approved software to track, log, and verify shipments, and generate reports.
• Prepare records of materials shipped and bills of lading.
• Route materials to proper destinations and coordinate inspections with Quality Assurance as required.
• Determine shipment methods using knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates.
• Assist Accounts Payable with processing and coding shipping invoices for payment.
• Perform inventory control functions and ensure compliance with audit standards.
• Inspect and unpack incoming shipments, recording shortages, damages, or deviations.
• Maintain packing and shipping supplies inventory.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and applicable federal, state, and DOE regulations.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of relevant shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of inventory management.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong judgment, integrity, and ability to work independently within established policies.
• Team-oriented with a strong commitment to safety.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing departmental needs.

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normally assigned to perform work in an office and warehouse environment. Electrical, lifting, tripping, etc., hazards found in this environment. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
