SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant is trained to provide care in the clinic setting to patients under the supervision of APRN, APCs and Physicians. Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as PMHC policies is a condition of employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
Prepares patient for examination.Note health history or the reason for visit in the patients chart.Take and record height, weight and blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration, temperature, allergies and drug sensitivities.Assist the clinical staff in completing examination and procedures as instructed.Completely fill out lab slips and other forms, as necessary.Administer medications and injections as ordered using the Five Rights of Medication Administration as directed.Assist the medical staff in patient education.Screens patient phone calls and calls patients back with instructions or orders from M.D., D.O., PA or APRN.Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, visitors and other employees.Organizes and prioritizes daily assignments to provide optimal patient care and increase productivity.

EDUCATION/COMPETENCIES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1. Currently licensed as a Medication Aide in the State of Nebraska.
2. Currently licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Nebraska.
3. 1+ Year of clinical experience required.
4. Current BLS certification must be obtained within 60 days from their date of hire..
