Supervisor Warehouse Ops (Finance)
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager and lead teams responsible for all activities related to the warehouse and the inventory & material handling of products. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor will be directly accountable for ensuring that shipping/receiving processes, OSHA safety requirements and other applicable standards and regulations are continually upheld. Consistent, effective and "on the floor" presence and visible leadership is a must. The Warehouse Supervisor will also collaborate with other internal departments to identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize a variety of operational issues relative to shipping/receiving and the inventory & material handling efficiency.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Demonstrate safety leadership by empowering the whole team to enhance the safety culture, creating an environment where all employees are openly engaged in striving towards a zero incident worksite.
Develop and maintains a working knowledge of corporate, plant and relevant external policies and standards that apply to an operating and shipping facility and ensures compliance with requirements.
Demonstrate a 'shop floor' presence and visible leadership, ensuring actions continually reinforce quality performance as a core value.
Be the real time guarantor of performance on the shop floor in matters of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Productivity.
Develop and execute an operational budget/financial plan.
Demonstrate ability to develop and lead a business case for local capital planning.
Demonstrate a passion and drive for continuous improvement through optimizing existing assets and defining and leading lean projects.
Effectively manage warehouse resources to deliver business results.
Responsible for customer On-Time-Delivery metrics and corrective actions ensuring all customer delivery concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Make sure that the team complies with all established norms and regulations (ISO 9001) and all customer-specific requirements to ensure the product and packaging meet expectations for shipments.
Develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operation.
Develop competent and skilled employees able to meet the current and future needs of the Return Center & Manufacturing departments.
Ensure all responsible employees are given a quality performance review and development plan, maximizing the potential of each and every employee.
Effectively manage human resources to provide optimum coverage for continuous safe and efficient operation.
Responsible for inventory control to include daily/weekly cycle counts, monthly inventory reports and performing quarterly physical inventory.
Responsible for the upkeep and repair of facility equipment and general facility maintenance.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Minimum five (5) years related experience in a high volume warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of acceptable training, education and experience;
Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft office, hand-held scanners and printers; previous experience with SAP preferred or any applicable Warehouse Management System knowledge.
Ability to direct and coordinate warehouse operations.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
Must be flexible with work shift and be able to work overtime when needed.
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work independently, and maintain a safe work environment.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred Business or Supply Chain Management
