GNSI Communications & Marketing Student Asst (Finance)



The Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) is seeking a motivated and dependable Student Assistant to support communications and marketing efforts as part of GNSI's mission.
  • Must be a current USF student.
  • Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
  • Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Teams
  • Some copywriting or journalism experience
  • Must have effective communication skills, be able to multitask, be self-motivated, able to follow directions, be dependable and eager to learn and willing to rotate assignment area on short notice.

This is not a coding, research or computer analytical position. You will be working with the GNSI team in the following ways (this list is not all-inclusive):
  • Writing and editing articles for the GNSI website, including profiles of students, GNSI Research Fellows, USF staff and faculty, and others
  • Assist in the creating and writing of social media posts on GNSI platforms, including Linkedin, Twitter, YouTube, and others
  • Assist in the creation of content for GNSI website, including graphics, videos, and news stories
  • Assist in the preparation for GNSI events, including podcasts, conferences and meetings
  • May assist in the graphic design of GNSI marketing materials, including flyers, research articles, Decision Briefs, Conference Reports, event programs, presentations, and others, as needed
  • May assist in the creation of videos, including conceptualization, writing scripts, preparing sets, setting up equipment and lighting (potentially shooting and editing the video for use on GNSI website and social media).
