Job Description:
Epiq's print operations is a critical part of the organization where 100% accuracy and timeliness is the standard. Documents printed in our facility are primarily instruments of legal settlements or financial documents with strict service level agreements.
Position Summary
Primarily utilizing cut sheet print systems, the print operator is responsible for the successful operation of the print equipment and ensuring documents meet quality standards – in print quality, accuracy and timeliness. Additionally, responsible for accurate input and sequencing of print files, inspection of print output and accurately annotating print paperwork to reflect usages.
Job Responsibilities
The print operator performs the following functions:
• prepares files for printing
• validates print jobs are set up to specifications
• loads paper for printing
• prints documents
• troubleshoots equipment issues including operator-level stops
• documents inventory usage and waste
• provides post-printing checks and balances
• follows quality steps throughout the entire process.
• assists quality check team members in job validation
• performs regular maintenance and cleaning of the print equipment and print operations area
• other duties as assigned
To be successful the individual in this position must follow departmental operating procedures, job processing control procedures and machine operating procedures. The individual must communicate with print operations management about any issue.
The expectation is that through team work, each job is completed with the highest possible level of accuracy and timeliness. The individual in this position is required to work a variety of shifts as scheduled, including occasional weekends.
Upon completion of training the individual must be able to demonstrate basic competency in all aspects of printing.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
The position requires:
• Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a variety of print types such as checks, statements, and/or other miscellaneous correspondences is helpful but not required.
• Prefer experience on Oce or Canon production continuous digital printers. Experience with other production digital printers will be acceptable.
• Strong mechanical ability and aptitude with high attention to detail.
• Able to work various shifts as needed, work overtime, weekends and holidays when workload requires it
