WHO YOU ARE

Our Lead Distribution Operator is responsible for assisting and monitoring the daily work schedules/functions of warehouse employees within a multi-shift/functional facility involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks (to include import and exports), stacking, picking, routing, waving, billing, packing/palletizing finished products, quality control, customer service, light assembly, maintenance, fleet operations and inventory control.

Our distribution center is located in Carlisle, PA

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor daily employee activities, assist with ensuring proper levels of staffing, check actual against scheduled distribution and production requirements and alter schedules to meet customer requirements (with supervisor approval)

Assists and follows overall company goals in servicing the customer and meeting all required KPI's

Monitor the flow of work to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment to ensure timely shipping of customer orders and/or finished goods

Assist in determining space requirements for storage; and monitor/schedule delivery and distribution of products, parts, returns, and accessories to achieve distribution and production objectives to meet customer requirements, may include, but not limited to coordination of inbound shipments (including imports), orderly stacking of product, picking, staging, and loading of outbound product (including small parcel and exports), assembly operations, display building, etc

Back-up Operations Supervisor on a shift as business dictates

Recommend changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the logistical team

Provides leadership and motivation to center employees to achieve routing, waving, returns, receiving, storage, picking, shipping, production, and other transaction-related goals

Assist in creating and maintaining safe and positive work environment, adhering to all DOT and OSHA guidelines and proper housekeeping practices

Coordinate all training activities and requirements within the guidelines and best practices

Ensure associates follow Standard Operating Procedures (Distribution Best Practices Manual and others) and adhere to company policies, productivity standards, regulations, DOT and OSHA standards

Assist in the daily tasks including, but not limited to, manpower tasking, service flexibility, RF and equipment accountability; maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat clean orderly fashion

Loading, unloading, moving, stocking, and staging products and materials using a forklift, reach truck, walkie, or other material handling equipment.

Coordinate and store inventory, conduct regular process quality checks and perform cycle count / inventory reconciliation activities

Drive and assist in accurately reporting key operational measurements per management and facility parameters; safety, fleet, assembly, inventory, cost, productivity, efficiency, fulfillment, on-time delivery & quality

REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED

Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Minimum of two years distribution experience; knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems, payroll systems, spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Must pass and maintain lift truck certification: Forklift-Walkie/Rider, Forklift-Sitdown, Forklift-Pacer, Forklift-HR-Doub Deep

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stands; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms (which may include above and/or below shoulders); bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to use left and/or right hand for simple grasping; fine work, pushing/pulling and low speed assembly. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employ may be subject to over time requirements as the business dictates. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places.
