Coatings Prepper - 3rd shift (Manufacturing)
High Steel Structures is one of the largest steel fabricators in North America. The company produces steel superstructures for bridges, including some of the most iconic structures in the nation. The company also supplies girders and weldments for construction and industrial applications.
We are actively seeking an entry level coatings prepper to join our 3rd shift team.
****Third-shift coworkers work four 10-hour nights and receive a 25% shift differential.
The Coatings Prepper will perform various operations to prepare and paint specified areas of structural steel units to prescribed number of coats and thicknesses in accordance with drawings and specifications while maintaining production throughput.
Our next team member will ideal posses the following work and education requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to clean product before painting, remove fireballs, scale, rust, oil or grease, dust or other material that
may adversely affect paint adhesion or finish in accordance to drawings. - Ability to mix specified paint, adding fluid to powder and thinner as specified or required.
- Check thickness with manual or electronic thickness gauge.
- Use hand brush as required.
