Program Manager: After-School/Summer Program (Project Management)



POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Manager – Afterschool and Summer Program oversees the overall delivery and compliance of all programming across Beaver counties. This role ensures high-quality, trauma-informed services aligned with county contracts and evidence-based models. The Program Manager supervises program staff, ensures curriculum fidelity, manages reporting, and serves as the primary liaison to county partners.
 
EDUCATION,  QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelor's degree in criminology or humans service related field and 5 years' experience in community juvenile justice/clinical programming OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years' experience in community corrections.
  2. Must have a valid driver's license (Pennsylvania or for state in which resides) and acceptable driving record.
  3. Must have acceptable PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THIS POSITION:
  • Administer the policies and procedures necessary for the operation of the Afterschool/Summer Program, including scheduling adequate staff coverage and arranging for coverage during vacations, absences, etc. 
  • Must be able to meet the hours of the position, which may include evenings/weekends and on-call hours.
  • Participate in the agency hiring procedures of Afterschool/Summer Specialists and other program staff.  
  • Participate as a member of the management team that provides supervision and direction to the Afterschool/Summer program staff.
  • Mentor and train staff through role modeling and/or effective communication.
  • Attend departmental meetings, professional trainings, workshops and conferences to ensure best practices.  
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and payers and actively participate in marketing the program.

PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead, support staff, and manage complex social dynamics.
  • Must possess and demonstrate  emotional stability to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Must have audio/visual/verbal acuity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.
  • Must complete and pass Agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training and  have physical dexterity in order to assist in client physical interventions when necessary.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position: frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch; frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
