Community Day Service Instructor (Personal Services)

You'll be making a difference in the lives of residents who will challenge you, inspire you and greet you with love.Located in Loves Park, Illinois, our not-for-profit organization provides compassionate care to those with severe and profound intellectual disabilities through our residential nursing care program, adult day training program and our approved non-public school.

Job Summary:
Responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to enhance the skills and
knowledge of individuals or teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the evaluation, staffing and development and writing of programs of assigned persons
served
Responsible for implementing and documenting training programs for assigned Day Training
participants, including: concept development, positioning and handling, motor and language, stimulation
groups, others, as appropriate
Maintain accurate records and complete in timely manner: DT data, Client Program File, Daily
attendance (last day of month), monthly Summaries
Plan or participate in special events, field trips and summer camp activities
Maintain equipment in good working condition, reporting any maintenance problems to supervisors
Complete and maintain two copies of the ISP and program binders and submit a copy of the ISP binder
to program administrator
Collaborate with Day Training Administrator for the development and implementation of program goals
and objectives in conjunction with the Day Training Board
Complete WLCH training program and participate in in-services and continuing education opportunities
Use infection control and safety techniques at all times

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in special education or related human service field specified as in the definition of
qualified intellectual disability professionalOne or more years experience working with individuals who are developmentally disabled or an equivalent combination of education and experience Complete WLCH training program and participate in in-services and continuing education opportunities

Physical Demands:
Role may require lifting and moving materials and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
