Security Officer 1 (Security)

 

This is a part-time, 3rd shift position.

 

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services is seeking an experienced security officer to patrol buildings & grounds to assure safety & security of several state managed buildings.  Responsibilities include:

• Checks & secures buildings using hand-held, electronic Guard Tour Pipe* (PIPE); 
• Locks & unlocks doors
• Reports safety hazards & other unusual conditions
• Investigates & documents safety & security violations
• Maintains daily log of all activity & alarms that occur during the shift
• Checks personnel/visitors entering & leaving premises on detection equipment &/or by log &/or by checking identification
• Conducts searches of packages &/or persons
• Participates & successfully completes all training
• Complete Entry Level Protection Officer Program (ELPO) before end of probation

Formal education that includes reading, writing & speaking English.

Positions making security rounds in vehicle require valid driver's license.

Experience in commercial building security preferred.
