Store Manager (Finance)

Position Summary
Store managers supervise the retail organization's staff, meet customer needs and plan and coordinate sales, merchandising, and budgeting. In order to effectively perform the multitude of tasks required, managers should work well under pressure and with deadlines, and have significant experience in retail business and human resources.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work resultsMaintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employeesMaintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees while planning, monitoring, and appraising job resultsAchieves financial objectives by managing a monthly/annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actionsIdentifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other people in positions to understand service requirementsEnsures availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts while maintaining inventoriesFormulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities, determines additional needed sales promotions, authorizes clearance sales and studies trendsMarkets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotions, and display plans while analyzing the operating and financial statements for profitability ratiosSecures merchandise by implementing security systems and measuresDiligent in protecting company assetsProtects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environmentMaintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirementsDetermines marketing strategy changes by reviewing the operating and financial statements and the departmental sales recordsMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societiesMaintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and proceduresContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evenings and weekendsLeads all visual directives, ensuring mapping and floor set are properly planned, scheduled, and executed seamlessly within an allotted time frameSupervises the efficient and productive handling of all merchandise including shipment receipt and processing, floor sets, markdown optimization and replenishment systems while maintaining backroomOversees and ensures efficiency of all daily operational proceduresDelegates work to be completed, but needs to monitor progress and be available to be physically involved in all aspects of running the store and completing all work assignments Other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school Diploma or equivalent5 years retail experience3 years management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business management or related field of study
5 years retail management experienceAge 18 or older in Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and OhioAge 21 or older in IllinoisNot a felon, or a felon whose rights to possess firearms has been restored (requires passing deeper background check than standard)Illinois residents only: possess a valid FOID card

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.The position does require frequent lifting of merchandise.It is expected that the employee lift safely, using proper body mechanics and lifting devices. When lifting heavy items, up to 50 pounds, a team lift may be required.
