Associate Director - Funds & Asset Management
Position Description
Fitch Ratings' Funds & Asset Management group is a global team responsible for fund ratings analysis, methodology and model development, and publication of research on analytical and regulatory developments affecting the asset management sector. The group analyzes and publishes research on private equity fund finance and securitizations, leveraged closed end funds (CEFs), money market funds (MMFs), bonds funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), local government investment pools (LGIPs), and asset managers.
The individual who fills this position will provide leadership on some of the group's sub-sectors. We are looking for a candidate who has a keen interest in financial markets, with direct exposure to funds or structured finance transactions a plus.
Primary duties include:
• Mentoring, developing, and directing the group's team members
• Participating in industry events and leading outreach initiatives with bankers, investors, and other market participants
• Developing new methodologies for rating funds and structures based on market demand
• Developing financial models and databases
• Analyzing quantitative and qualitative factors influencing funds' and structured transactions' credit quality, including portfolio analysis
• Reviewing legal documentation for transactions, including indentures, prospectuses, etc.
• Leading on-site due diligence review meetings with fund managers
• Presenting rating recommendations to committees
• Authoring research on relevant trends affecting the covered sectors
Position Requirements:
• 4-10+ years of experience in finance, with exposure to funds or structured finance transactions a plus; the position level will be based on the candidate's experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated track record of initiative and achievement
• Knowledge of Access, SQL, and/or VBA a plus

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $95,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
