Purpose:
~ The Manager, Genesis Distribution Operations is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Genesis Vehicle Ordering and Dealer Allocation systems. This position is responsible for the extremely critical business processes that directly affect sales, dealer confidence in our brand, the fair and equitable allocation of vehicles to our dealers, and the systems that support this process including SAP, OTD, and the allocation and ordering system. This position is involved in critical decisions that affect key business areas that are critical to GMA from a sales, dealer relations and legal perspective.
~ The Manager, Genesis Distribution Operations is also responsible for completing pricing for all company series prior to wholesale release as well as updating the system with any pricing changes throughout the year. This position impacts #mission critical# business processes that directly impact corporate cash flow, dealer relations, and legal compliance as pertains to pricing documentation and government compliance. Accuracy, completeness, and understanding the complexity of linked processes is essential to successfully execute this position. Through periodic audit and analysis, the Genesis Distribution Operations Manager should discover system and data errors and communicate with Management and HAEA for resolution.
~ Facilitates departmental process improvement through process evaluation, recommendation to management and process implementation. Works with the Systems and Planning Manager to ensure proper generation, maintenance and update of department SOP's in coordination with all team members. Coordinate and facilitate bi-weekly meetings with the overseas production plants to discuss key topics impacting production. Serves as mentor and trainer to junior personnel within the operations team. Act as backup to the Distribution Operations Senior Manager in all aspects of departmental management.
~ System Management: The Genesis Distribution Operations Manager will work with the Systems Manager to oversee the accuracy of the distribution system as it pertains to functions such as new model set up, pricing, and data communication with HMC production orders. The Genesis Distribution Operations Manager will also communicate with decision makers and stake holders about the timing and testing necessary to affect key system input requirements to ensure vehicle release and launch dates are met.
~ BTO: Responsible for implementing and facilitating the Genesis Built-to-Order platform and ordering process. This includes but is not limited to, production input, ordering, processing and automation, communication with HMC, assisting with the consumer and dealer facing websites to include site enhancements, system implementation and legality reviews. Will work closely with all company stakeholders to insure all requirements are met.
Major Responsibilities:
~ Legal & Compliance: The Genesis Distribution Operations Manager has a direct impact on dealer Monroney & Invoice accuracy and generation. Ancillary labels and legal disclosures are also systematically linked to Distribution Operations. The Genesis Distribution Operations Manager needs to have a thorough understanding of the impact of accurate and complete information to these processes.
~ Order & Tracking: The communication, via electronic means, to various production control entities begins the ordering process. The Genesis Distribution Operations Manager should monitor order status, completion, and timeliness. The tracking of vehicle orders, or #ONS#, enables GMA management to optimize ground stock availability.
~ Regional Interface: Communicate operations related issues with regional staff while gathering field personnel input. Scope of discussion includes topics such as vehicle transfers, production constraints, production delays, spec changes, and system issues.
~ Executive Support: Provide executives with summary and actionable reports on a routine and Ad Hoc basis.
~ Management of Staff: In collaboration with the Distribution Systems & Planning Manager, develops and mentors subordinate staff.
Authority:
~ Provide management with quality information and recommendations to facilitate decision making.
~ Mentor, coach and develop subordinates; take appropriate action to ensure department efficiency and effectiveness.
~ Communicates technical decisions on an ongoing basis in day-to-day dealings with HMC, HAEA, Glovis, and Mobis counterparts.
~ Backup and Support Senior Manager, Distribution, as required.
Education:
~ Bachelor's degree preferred.
~ Master's degree a plus.
Related Experience:
~ Six to seven years of experience of which at least three years of directly related experience in Distribution Operations, Planning, and Systems development.
~ Two to three years of supervisory experience desired.
~ Previous allocations and systems development and allocation systems process improvement experience.
~ Experience working with stakeholders to translate process needs into practical system functionality.
~ SAP system knowledge and experience is a plus.
Skill/Knowledge:
~ High level Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP, DTS, APSII and project management skills.
~ Detail oriented, excellent organizational and communication skills.
~ Advanced mathematical skills.
~ Able to handle multiple responsibilities.
~ Thorough understanding of dealer allocations systems.
Physical requirements:
~ Normal office duties.
