The Data & Analytics (D&A) organization is an enterprise wide team that is critical to Equifax's long term success. As a center of excellence (COE), the D&A team is responsible for developing new and innovative capabilities across data, analytics and platforms that can be leveraged globally. D&A also has resources embedded in business units globally and operates in a hub/spoke model. The D&A Strategy team reports to the Chief Data and Analytics Officer serving an integral role in Equifax's growth, long term success, and is responsible for strategic projects and stakeholder engagement. The strategic projects the D&A Strategy team takes on will typically involve a deep analysis of Equifax's investment in and use of data, analytics, and platforms. Equifax's recent cloud transformation has opened the door to more exciting opportunities whereby the D&A Strategy team is responsible for fully exploring and exploiting these new opportunities.
The VP, D&A Strategy will be a key member of the D&A Strategy team responsible for developing and setting the strategic direction for the global D&A organization, including the ideation and fostering of new innovation ideas. This leader will collaborate closely with other team members of the D&A Strategy team and the D&A Leadership Team. This is a player/coach role that requires high-quality and high impact individual output and mentorship of junior staff. The role will be based in Atlanta, GA.
What You'll Do
Own overall D&A strategy, including market research, competitive research, assessment of evolving capabilities, and monthly executive briefings
Source and develop innovation ideas from various sources, including but not limited to: customers, start-ups, expert interviews, market research, BU counterparts, and your professional network
Develop innovation ideas to a mature enough state that they can be prioritized for deeper research by the Innovation Architecture team and handoff to the D&A Operations team
Define D&A's strategy and roadmap aligning with corporate, BU, D&A, and International strategies and priorities
Be an influential voice in the Innovation Council (internal with BUs and external with customers and partners)
Qualifications
Act a business partner with senior leadership across D&A and BUs to ensure innovation ideas in alignment with the company's strategic objectives
Proactively identify trends and areas of risk and opportunity for growth
Manage day to day workload of D&A Strategy team
Coach D&A Strategy team on activities such as opportunity assessments, market research studies, etc.
Evaluate results of strategic activities and adjust the strategic direction to meet changing market and competitive conditions
You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members at various levels, including business leaders
Extra Points for any of the Following
Bachelors required
15+ years experience in consulting (technology, strategy, or operations), corporate strategy, product management, or related field
10+ years experience with data and analytics products
10+ years of Financial Services, Fraud, or Big Tech experience
Excellent communication skills and comfort with presenting to Senior Leadership audience
Previous experience managing professional-level staff, including performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary actions
High-energy and strongly motivated to driving ideas forward
Possesses gravitas, strong partnership skills and demonstrates effective influence and interpersonal skills
Must possess effective negotiation, decision making and strong problem solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solution
Strong business acumen required and must exercise sound judgment
Maintains a pulse on the market and can anticipate evolving needs of customers and/or market
Intellectually curious, must possess exceptional critical thinking skills and lead the organization to push boundaries
Experienced interacting with sales and customers to gather feedback about market conditions and competitive landscape
Able to see the big picture and evaluate decisions based on the best interests of the overall business
Must be grounded in financial modeling to assess and recommend strategic investments
Self-motivated and has a thirst for new and innovative ways to solve business problems
Advanced Degree (MBA, or M.S. in Analytics, Data Science, or similar)
Fintech or data start-up experience
