IT Manager (Project Management)
TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time IT Manager to join our team in Dover, Delaware.
Summary: Responsible for Computer Systems Operations for a particular company site, and/or smaller remote office sites. Manages data operations, computer networks, hardware, software, and supports computer users activities. Plans and implements budgets, oversees hardware and server upgrades, patches, virus detection, and backups. Mentors, trains, and supervise IT staff. Interfaces with department managers with regard to system needs and budget purchases. Ensures that staff and computer users are complying with vendor software license agreements and SOX requirements for corporation.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Information Systems staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: MCSE, CCNA
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Authority: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Job Complexity: Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements.
Discretion: Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in schedules.
Interaction: Frequently interacts with subordinates and functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.
Direction: Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors (e.g., technicians, designers, support personnel). Acts as advisor to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
