Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking an EHS Intern to support our facility located in Danbury, CT. This position is responsible for assisting the department in both administrative and practical tasks.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Process Safety Shoe reimbursements
Process Safety Glasses reimbursements
Organize and file contractor management forms (insurance, hazard analysis, audits, etc.)
Perform regular audits of Schaeffler contractors
Prepare and post safety communications (OSHA Logs, 7-minute trainer, metrics, etc.)
Assist with coordinating EHS trainings (scheduling, sign-in, prepare employee lists, post list, flyers and communications)
SAP work - process service entries, prepare EPRs
Prepare and Post LOTO Placards
Coordinate mass mailings to customers and suppliers regarding TSCA/Prop 65, log responses, check database
Coordinate Americas BLS monthly reporting
Perform regular Plant walkthroughs (LPA audits)
Assist with filing and organizing EHS records
Review and manage the chemical inventory system including safety data sheets
Assist with coordinating EHS Regional meetings
Prepare and post GHS Labels
Review and update EHS Procedures
Help manage SConnect sites with up to date information
Assist with EHS Metrics (entering information, requesting information form suppliers, Schaeffler personnel.)
Update Chemical Storage lists / audit for accuracy / ensure SDSs in system
Miscellaneous data entry projects
Convert paper files to electronic files
File workers compensation claims
Identify hazards and risks at workstation and prepare risk assessments
Assist with EnEHS week planning and implementation
Assist with Risk Assessment Evaluation for Annual Updates
Assist in organizing REAcH/RoHS requests
Qualified candidates will have:
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
Working toward an advanced degree preferably in the engineering or science field.
Proficient knowledge and use of standard Windows programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.
Organized, motivated and dependable individual.
Experience with SAP software a plus.
