Hardware Test Engineer (Finance)



For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,600 - $120,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Hardware Test Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering, Tools, and Test team. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of our hardware products through the development and execution of robust testing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware testing, compliance standards, and cross-functional collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and document test procedures, analyze data, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Develop test processes and standards for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to define test requirements and ensure testability of new designs.
  • Characterize the performance of hardware systems and components through structured testing and analysis.
  • Coordinate with external test labs and certification bodies for compliance testing (e.g., EMC, safety, environmental).
  • Interpret and apply relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, FCC, CE) to ensure product compliance.
  • Design and implement automated and manual test setups, including custom test fixtures and instrumentation.
  • Analyze test data, identify trends or anomalies, and provide clear, actionable feedback to engineering teams.
  • Support production teams by consulting and helping to refine test procedures for manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Help identify test equipment needs.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for test failures or field issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized test documentation, including test plans, reports, and change logs.
  • Continuously improve test methodologies, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and coverage.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical field .
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware testing, validation, or compliance engineering .
  • Strong understanding of hardware systems, including analog/digital circuits, power systems, and embedded components.
  • Proficiency in analyzing test data and generating technical reports
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test plans.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong safety awareness.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, production, and external partners.
    • Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory testing (e.g., UL, CE, Intertek, RoHS).
    • Proficiency with MS Office 365 for creating tables, charts, and data entry.
    • Experience with establishing test procedures and identifying required equipment.
    • Efficient and clear communication skills, both written and oral.

    Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)
    • Office environment working primarily at a desk on a computer.
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
    • May require minimal lifting of thirty pounds or less.
    • Travel is required on a regular basis to perform this role.

    Nice to Have
    • Experience with automated test systems and scripting (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
    • Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing (e.g., thermal cycling, vibration, HALT/HASS).
    • Knowledge of design for testability (DFT) principles.
    • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive).
