Job Summary:
Clean and maintain the equipment to ensure that all tractors and trailers at the terminal are in the cleanest possible condition, both inside and out, including the engine. Additionally, assist the shop in moving equipment and patrol the parking lot, shop area, and fueling station.
Essential Position Functions:
1. Clean and inspect fleet vehicles.
2. Wash outside of trucks and trailers.
3. Package the driver's personal belongings in circumstances where the driver is unable to perform this task.
4. Clean inside the can and sleeper, including installing a new mattress.
5. Steam spray the engine.
6. Perform R services (cleaning evaporator coils).
7. Spray out and sanitize the inside of trailers.
8. Maintain cleanliness of the wash bay floors, hoses, and drains.
9. Fill in for Hostlers as needed.
10. Move trailers and equipment for the shop as needed.
11. Patrol the parking lot and fuel island. Help maintain a clean and safe working environment for all. Communicate well about equipment with both supervisors and shop personnel.
12. Maintain a daily log of all activities.
13. Regular attendance and punctuality are required due to working with scheduled equipment, customer requirements, and facility needs.
14. Work schedules are subject to change based on company requirements.
Education and Experience:
1. Possess and maintain a Class A CDL
2. Minimum of one year's experience required. Experience with cleaning products is desirable.
3. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
4. Work with all levels of employees, drivers, and management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be able to communicate in English.
2. Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs continually throughout the shift.
3. Sitting, standing, bending, stopping, lifting, and physical dexterity are required.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
1. Truck shop environment. OSHA regulated.
2. Outside environment, to include all weather conditions.
