IT Business Intelligence Analyst (Corporate) (Security)



The Business Intelligence Analyst position is a full-time position in the Information Technology (IT) Department and will report to the BI Manager. This person will be responsible for strategic, consistent, and optimal utilization of Business Applications. This role is responsible for coordinating business application resources and collaborating with all departments and sites including, operations, sales, accounting, and management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain structural integrity of databases and data warehouses
  • Manage upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, standardization and process improvement of business applications and integrations
  • Work with decision makers to leverage and automate reporting to drive integration and to eliminate isolated functionality, multiple instances of the same data, redundant manual activities & lower costs
  • Understanding of production practices and work-flows
  • View and analyze organization business needs; confers with users to evaluate requirements, discuss solutions, and develop plan of approach
  • Prepares program documentation to support new or enhanced systems and applications.
  • Participates in structured walk-throughs to review systems and provide training and support
  • Maintain governmental compliance and participate in audits as needed
  • Conduct technical evaluations on new products and provides recommendations
  • Keep up to date on latest technologies and trends
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support as required
  • Participates in the development of project proposals with emphasis on cost/benefits
  • Assist IT team with improvements to enhance functionality and service to users
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Skilled in organizing and expressing ideas effectively in oral and written communication
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in data analytics, reporting, and application integration
  • Follow through on short- and long-term projects
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and networks
  • Must be capable of following strict policies and procedures
  • Highly organized, analytical and action oriented
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation on server processes and standards

 Minimum:

  • 2 plus years of information technology related experience or a combination of post-secondary technical training such as: Database design providing technical support for software, SQL reporting systems, etc.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in information technology and database management
  • Certification in CompTIA Server+
  • Expertise with reporting platforms such as SSRS and PowerBI
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer related discipline

Physical Requirements:
Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
