Job Summary Direct and motivate all shift personnel in achieving the daily production schedule designed to meet our customer expectations.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities · Supervises, instructs, trains and coaches the hourly personnel in all aspects of the job, including the proper techniques, work instructions, production methods, quality assurance and plant operation. · Works in conjunction with the Production Manager and Human Resources on all personnel issues including performance reviews and necessary disciplinary actions defined in Pioneer Metal Finishing handbook. · Promotes communication and teamwork with a focus on quality, efficiency and good housekeeping throughout the plant. · Assures that customer's products are processed in accordance with instructions and programs designed by the QA department and that all customer's products meet the specification and quality requirements. · Assists in planning labor requirements, adjusting as necessary to maintain flexibility in order to meet customer needs as well as keeping labor costs and labor rate within the guidelines set forth by the Production Manager. · Administers the policies of the company as set forth in the handbook as it relates to supervision of the employees. · Presents improvement ideas relating to the job such as methods, procedures, techniques, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, safety, quality, and other related improvements. · Must learn Pioneer's operating and communication software programs and exhibit the ability to effectively communicate through all facets of electronic communication. · Must complete the Daily Performance Worksheet on individual work cells. · Promotes employee safety and positive morale. · Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards · Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection). · Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted. · Potential splash exposure near process lines. · Various chemicals used in process. Education/Qualifications · 3-5 Years of Strong Leadership experience in a labor intensive production/manufacturing environment · Strong operational background and experience (Ex. Lean, product flow, etc) · Hands-on Leadership Style · Strong Presence and proven success motivating a workforce · Previous experience creating a vision, setting goals, holding teams accountable and driving results · High sense of urgency · Previous success managing in a continuously changing environment · Previous experience evaluating performance a developing future leaders · Desire for future growth & responsibilities · Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations, or a related field preferred
