Senior Private Banker (Finance)



Job Description:

Role
Under the direction of the Managing Director of Wealth Management, the Senior Private Banker is responsible for delivering bespoke financial solutions to high-net-worth individuals and business clients. This role blends deep relationship management with innovative financial thinking to grow and retain an exclusive portfolio. Leveraging advanced market knowledge and a strong internal network, the Senior Private Banker leads with a client-first mindset, aligning comprehensive banking, credit, and wealth strategies to each client's unique goals. As a tenured expert, this leader also plays a key role in product development and strategy refinement to evolve the bank's Private Banking offering.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary advisor to a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, offering tailored advice across deposit, lending, and investment products.
• Regularly meet with clients and prospects to conduct comprehensive financial reviews and update strategic plans.
• Ensure an exceptional client experience through proactive service, seamless onboarding, and coordinated cross-functional execution.
Strategic Growth & Business Development
• Develop and execute individualized acquisition plans targeting business owners, executives, and professionals.
• Partner with Commercial, Wealth, Trust and Insurance teams to deliver integrated financial solutions.
• Build and maintain influential relationships with external centers of influence (e.g., attorneys, CPAs, family offices).
Credit & Lending Expertise
• Structure, negotiate, and manage complex credit arrangements including lines of credit, real estate secured lending, and specialty financing.
• Partner with credit risk and underwriting to align client solutions with policy and risk tolerance.
• Monitor portfolio risk and performance, ensuring compliance with credit covenants and documentation standards.
Innovation & Product Advancement
• Identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive dynamics to shape the Private Banking value proposition.
• Actively participate in pilot programs or product enhancement initiatives that support scalable customization and digital engagement.
• Contribute to strategic discussions related to technology, process efficiency, and high-touch service delivery models.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Maintain strict adherence to all regulatory, operational, and fiduciary requirements, including BSA/AML protocols.
• Act as a gatekeeper for client suitability, documentation standards, and reputational risk mitigation.
• Engage regularly with Compliance, Audit, and Legal to ensure proactive issue resolution and operational soundness.
Mentorship & Leadership
• Provide coaching and knowledge-sharing to junior bankers and relationship associates.
• Serve as a cultural champion within the department, modeling integrity, discretion, and a client-first approach.
• Represent Private Banking in internal leadership meetings and special projects.

Knowledge & Skills
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of private banking, commercial banking, or wealth advisory experience with a proven track record of serving high-net-worth clients and structuring complex credit and banking solutions.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required MBA preferred. CFP®, CFA, CTFA, MLO, or other relevant certifications preferred.
Skills
• Sophisticated knowledge of financial planning, credit structuring, trust and investment services, and banking regulations.
• Proven consultative sales skills and ability to identify, develop, and deepen profitable client relationships.
• High degree of professionalism, discretion, and client empathy.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen with an eye toward innovation.
• Proficiency in CRM, loan origination platforms, and core banking systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.

Physical Requirement
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

Regular in-office attendance required.

Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
