This is an exciting time for Mars Topeka. We are expanding and looking for new and current Production Coordinators to staff our brand-new production line. We are hiring for various flexible CVS schedule transitioning 12-hour nonrotating shifts after a period of time, so if you want to become part of this historic startup please apply or if you are a current associate speak with your line manager. Here is what our Production Coordinators do:
Under direction of the Production Leader and based on the area's top losses and key challenges, the Production Coordinator creates and executes plans to accelerate building people capability. They train, coach and mentor operators to deliver the daily production plan and the 90-day plan. The Production Coordinator is an integral member of the production team on each shift. They are a flexible resource in their area of support and fill in as the Production Leader to ensure smooth operation of the shift, and operate equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Works directly with the Production Leader to create the daily and weekly production plan and supports the execution of the plan focused on associate capability and flawless execution.
As the key trainer and equipment/machinery expert of an assigned area, responsible to build operator capability, problem solving and technical understanding across teams and shifts.
In the absence of the Production Leader, performs the duties of the role demonstrating the necessary leadership behaviors.
As the subject matter expert of the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Daily Management Systems (DMS) provides guidance and training to Associates in these areas of expertise; including DMS, Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL), Centerlines (CL's), Abnormality Handling, and 5S.
Drives loss elimination of raw ingredients, packaging material, and finished goods through observation of production operations and by analyzing loss data to recommend solutions
Recommends to the Production Leader areas of opportunity to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, safety, etc.
Participates in the execution of planned production "stops" to perform regular maintenance or other routine activities, coach operators on the effectiveness of proactive planning verses unplanned breakdowns.
Influence and mentor associates on their self-development and business objectives.
Maintains Level 4 Step Up Cards (SUCs).
May relieve operators as needed within assigned production areas.
Works Independently within established procedures and practices.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Standing on a concrete floor.
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently.
Required to work weekends during peak season.
Required to work mandatory overtime during peak season.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Qualification
Associate Degree in a technical field of study and 2 years' experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment or 5+ years of experience in manufacturing with progressive levels of responsibility
Certified Trainer (Daily Management System (DMS) Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Problem solving, etc.)
Knowledge & Experience
Required to have all the skills and knowledge of Operator in addition to the following:
Has the ability to operate and knowledge to manage the operations of all the production equipment of multiple production areas within a factory
Complete all the necessary training and requirements to become a recognized
Autonomous Maintenance Coach within the AM Pillar
Able to operate all the equipment in an assigned area to effectively train other Associates
Has advanced skills, typically gained through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience
Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel to capture and analyze data and utilize
PowerPoint to deliver presentations and training) and SAP.
