Director of Uncooled Operations (Finance)

Job Description

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the VP of Operations, lead and manage all operational departments related to the production of uncooled infrared devices in support of various markets (Automotive, Security, Maritime, Personal Vision Systems, Mobile Handsets, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, etc...). Additionally, this role includes managerial oversight for the Shipping/Receiving and Customer Service functions. Designs manufacturing organization to support the business goals for revenue, growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Guides and supports the organization through effective management systems designed to escalate and resolve problems immediately. Coaches and mentors team members and subordinate managers. Drives continuous improvement efforts of the manufacturing teams through the implementation of Lean Production Systems, with the goal of shorter production and repair cycle times and lower costs. Ensures a quality mindset and an emphasis on product reliability to maximize customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of high-level management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles required
  • Working knowledge of Automotive Quality and Manufacturing systems (ISO 16949/ISO 26262)

Other Qualification:

  • Knowledge of Infrared Technology
  • Knowledge of analytical problem-solving techniques (Six Sigma and/or Kepner Tregoe)
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control
  • Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (Gage R/R)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct reports include:
    • All Uncooled Infrared Device Manufacturing Managers
    • Material Manager (Shipping/Receiving/Stockroom)
    • Customer Service Manager

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment
  • Manufacturing factory environment
  • Generally less than 10% travel
