Director/Executive Director, Trade Product Management (Finance)



Job Description:

The role of Executive Director/Director within the Trade Finance ("Trade Products") of GTBA is to promote our Letter of Credit product offering and execute various trade transactions utilizing the short-term working capital product suite.

The responsibilities will include regular collaboration with GTBA Origination Officers and client Relationship Managers ("RMs") as well as with clients in order to identify specific trade finance needs. Regular coordination with Business Origination Units, Credit Divisions and Operations units in the and throughout the Mizuho global network to ensure the successful execution of trade related transactions. There will be primary emphasis on the Letter of Credit (LOC) offering with additional responsibilities for driving opportunities for the other products within the suite.

Responsibilities include the structuring, arranging, documentation review and execution of LOC opportunities and when needed the working capital product suite with clients, Business Origination Units, legal department and credit divisions to source, structure, negotiate and execute transactions.

General

  • The candidate will be responsible for transaction management for our LOC offering and when needed the SCF, Inventory Finance and Receivable Purchase programs in support of GTBA Origination Units and product partners within the wider bank. The individual will support the pursuit of common goals of minimizing risk while maximizing client satisfaction and returns to Mizuho shareholders.
  • The candidate will articulate these products and solutions and will direct and support all phases of structuring, negotiations with Clients, including pricing and documentation, approval and execution.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of GTBA risk distribution initiative including market sounding,
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a solid business relationship with all internal stakeholders.

Administrative

  • The candidate will have thorough understanding of Mizuho Internal Operating Procedures ("IOP") for all trade products, including supply chain finance and receivable purchase programs , silent payment
  • guarantees, trade advances, structured trade products (pre-export / prepayment financing), LC confirmation and LC issuance, distributor financing and risk distribution.
  • Coordinates Credit Approvals within GTBA and Credit Divisions/Business Partners to assure adequate credit/structuring risk protections on Client transactions for the Bank;
  • Co-ordinate with Legal Unit for documentation negotiation and processing for completion of product transactions' legal protections for the Bank;
  • Operational understanding of Products and Solutions, in co-ordination with GTBA's RCMG unit, and ABOD, for successful transaction management and execution within Mizuho network and other area

Policy

  • Review/Monitor/ Update various product IOPs; Support the development of new products and improvements / efficiencies to existing products and policies as necessary.

Technical Skills Required

  • Comprehensive Banking Experience, deep understanding of UCP and ISP guidelines; skills in Products/Credit/ Operations/ Client Customer Service, Client Contact to Advise/Consult/Structure/ Strategize within Mizuho's Branch Network
  • PC skills with a solid understanding of spreadsheet applications; Microsoft Word and Excel.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE:

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the field of Trade Finance products working in financial institutions;

In addition, the candidate must exhibit:
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support the coordination and implementation of the Trade Products Business Plan within the and across regions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; the ability work seamlessly in a multi-cultural environment
  • The ability to build consensus; proven negotiations skills with the ability to influence and persuade internal and
  • external senior management level contacts
  • Proven people skills with the ability to effectively manage expectations of both GTBA's internal and external clients; review and establish goals

  • Sensitivity to client needs while being cognizant of delivery capabilities
  • The ability to support the delivery of the Trade Products Business Plan with resources provided
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply results to resolve issues
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

Education: college degree in banking/finance; MBA a plus

Language: Spanish and Portuguese a plus but not required

OTHER/MISCELLANEOUS: The CANDIDATE within GTBA will focus on taking both an Americas and global coordinated effort to promote and execute products to generate income, identify internal and external hurdles to global delivery and business expansion, and improve and streamline the product delivery process, working closely with all internal Mizuho stakeholders.

The expected base salary ranges from $180,000 - $250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus. Apply
