Schematics Manager - On Site, Stillwater, MN (Finance)



Job Overview:

Responsible for developing divisional strategies, processes and communication in the area of schematic development. This specifically includes the HomeStores Program, and all of the activities associated to: category closing calendar, weekly cycle of the work assignments SAR's (store activity report), store and vendor communication, and interaction.

Works closely with the Store Planning department to determine the plan-o-gram needs, whether new or updated, for new stores, remodels, and major resets. Directs and manages the implementation of each of these initiatives. Provides primary resource support to division and store management regarding space allocation projects and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Integrates division or local relevance products with the plan-o-gram; creating banner/divisional plan-o-grams which meet merchandising guidelines which maximize sales and profits; including segmented and versions.
  • Identify opportunities for category growth through regular analysis of sales trends, SKU productivity, and competitive market data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely implementation of the plan-o-grams at store-level to maintain best in class "speed to market" with new items. Use tracking tool(s) to monitor space allocation of new shelf items.
  • Oversee all activities related to a new/remodel store setup to ensure accurate completion and on-time following the project schedule.
  • Negotiate shelf space allocation solutions in an environment of competing demands, pressures, and conflicting priorities.
  • Mange the plan-o-gram process, plan-o-gram analysis, inventory control, new and discontinued item processes, delivering activity reports, resolving issues or conflicts related to plan-o-gram and reset activities.
  • Consult in areas of space allocations, category adjacencies, and fixture requirements for store layouts. Reviews, audits, and makes change recommendations for all merchandise prints prior to finalization.
  • Provide store mapping group with any store layout or category adjacencies changes to ensure up-to-date data.
  • Ensure timely and effective plan-o-gram development that follows expressed objectives from Category/Sales Managers. Utilize vendor input and makes decisions on appropriate analysis.
  • Develop plan-o-grams that follow company merchandising initiatives and Business Development Manager objectives in an effort to maximize sales & profits while ensuring accurate and timely completion of planograms in accordance with first to market new items "speed to shelf."
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills
  • (Five) years management experience, with proven performance understanding of space, adjacency, and fixture requirements for all grocery, frozen, dairy, and drug categories.
  • Proven supervision experience, including familiarity with performance management processes.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment: Onsite Role: This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.

Travel (minor): This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
