Staff Accountant - School Grant Advisor (Finance)

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant School Grant Advisor will work directly with our Charter team that provides accounting and financial management services to charter schools throughout Minnesota. This position will provide back-office business support, including processing journal entries, entering budgets, and tracking Federal grant revenues and expenditures for clients.
Responsibilities:
Process journal entries for charter school clientsReview Bill.com and HRIS coding for accuracyImport monthly trial balance to engagement for financials and group accounts, as applicableManage, track, and review special education (SPED) revenues and expenditures plus Federal grant revenues and expendituresRequest draws for federal and state grantsEnter Charter School budgets into accounting systemManage, track, and review due to and from Building Company accountsReview crosswalks/UFARS uploads and ensure reports are accurateTie out SPED & Federal Grant comparison reportsRecord year-end federal aid receivablesReview and document restricted fund balance and ensure that revenues equal expenditures.Analyze and tie out Building Company escrow spreadsheetEnsure that State and Federal applications have been submitted for approvalAssist Charter Schools with MDE fiscal monitoring and Maintenance of Effort monitoring & review
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Accounting or related degree or equivalent job experience.Experience in grant management and extensive knowledge of applicable grant procedures.
