Temp-to-Hire Forklift Operator - 1st Shift (Finance)

Lakeside Book Company is looking for safety minded Temp-to-Hire Forklift Operators to join our Plainfield team. You will be responsible for maneuvering hoists to lift, lower, and transport materials safely across the warehouse. You will work closely with a dedicated team, ensuring that products are moved to their proper locations, while maintaining a safe working environment. Pay, Shift, Location, & Job Type:

Pay: $18.75/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm, with overtime as needed

Location: 700 Airtech Parkway, Plainfield, IN 46168

Job Type: Temp-to-hire: eligible for full time, permanent, status change following your 90-day probationary performance review.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a hoist, turret truck, and/or stand-up forklift.
• Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
• Ensure all lifting operations comply with safety regulations and company standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure they are in safe working order.
• Assist in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and material handling.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience as a forklift operator required.
• Comfortable with heights of 20+ feet, required.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in all operations.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs throughout your shift.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
