Position Summary:

Assists with the day-to-day administrative project management and may provide scientific direction the Houston Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program. This position involves the use of restricted data. Certification of education on the protection of human research participants must be completed and submitted within 5 days of the effective date of employment.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Proactively reach out to community organizations across the greater Houston area to facilitate strategic partnerships that enhance program outreach, support participant needs, and strengthen community-based collaboration efforts.
  • Assist the research team in developing key program materials, including participant handouts, intervention protocols, resource guides, and training materials for hospital and community partners.
  • Support stakeholder engagement efforts by helping organize regular meetings, preparing meeting materials, and assisting in communication with hospital staff, community organizations, and research partners to ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Aid in the tracking of program data, including assisting with data collection efforts and helping prepare evaluation materials under the supervision of the research team.
  • Assist the study team with conducting literature reviews, summarizing key findings, and supporting the development of academic publications, presentations, and dissemination materials related to the hospital-based violence intervention program.
  • Assists in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies; works closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission of grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred:
  • Strong understanding of NIH grant processes, experience in program management within hospital settings, and a deep commitment to reducing violence and its impact on patients and communities.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
