Position Summary
Provides management and direction for the Associate Relations functions and staff. Encourages an associate oriented, high-performance work environment.
Essential Duties
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Management oversight of the Associate Relations team. Consults with managers and supports all divisions within Goodwill regarding People related needs and processes.
2. Perform HR investigations when allegations of misconduct are identified.
3. Manages Human Resources processes to ensure compliance with policies/federal regulations/laws to minimize risks related to Unemployment Insurance Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Department of Labor, Workers Compensation, Family Medical Leave, etc.
4. Reports and analyzes results, driving continuous improvement, maximize utilization of HRIS system
5. Management oversight of the organizational performance evaluation process (system setup, guidelines, training, calibration of results, process oversight, and outcomes reporting.)
6. Management oversight of personnel records processes.
7. Direct all diversity and inclusion program supports and represents Goodwill in the community.
a. Conducts research on D&I best practices, makes recommendations
b. Keeps current on D&I programs, developments and issues by building relationships/networks with others in the field
c. Develops and facilitates learning opportunities to educate associates and managers on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences
d. Develops, analyzes, and reports on metrics measuring progress and effectiveness of the organizations D&I strategy.
e. Shares internal/external communications about our Inclusion programs (stories about associates, marketing of accomplishments to support our employment brand, pictures of events that we attend, etc.)
f. Manages D&I related projects and associated resource groups.
8. Direct efforts to hear from our associates (i.e., focus groups, surveys). Lead the development of the strategy, reporting, and related action plans to drive improved Associate Engagement.
9. Oversee the creation and maintenance of all Human Resource policies and annual HR training
10. Serve as a subject matter expert in change management, organizational development, and other people related efforts.
11. Lead efforts to provide mission inward, helping associates overcome challenges to bringing their best self to work.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
5 Years' experience in a related field required.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass both state and federal criminal background checks.

Safety Statement

Information Privacy and Security
This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions
General Office Position - The associate is required to lift up to 10 pounds maximum.
The associate works in a general office environment and is infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area. Occasional overnight travel is required.
