Legal Administrative Assistant (Legal)

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for providing exceptional, proactive administrative support to senior level attorneys. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide litigation, administrative, and research support to the work of VRP attorneys
  • Handle general administrative duties
  • Telephone support, schedule meetings and conference calls
  • Skilled in MS Office; Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe  
  • Provide transcription support
  • Maintain and organize electronic information related to cases and projects
  • Prepare, file, review and organize litigation documents including, but not limited to, deposition summaries, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence with co-counsel, including cite-checking, proofreading, and formatting such documents
  • Proficient with New Jersey and Pennsylvania state and federal court filings
  • Familiar with requesting records and subsequent follow up including ordering medical, police, fire and ambulance records
  • Prior experience with issuing subpoenas 
  • Familiar with Workplace Health & Safety/Right to Know and Freedom of Information Act  
  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Conduct Internet and other factual research

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate and/or at least one year of related experience  
  • Must take initiative, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Previous experience with document review, a plus
  • Strong research, including intern research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of efficiency
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and see projects through to completion
