Director of Development & Military Programming (Finance)
Must be at least 21 years of age
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum three years of experience in non-profit financial development.
Proven track record of success in asking for and closing donation requests.
Foundation grant writing experience necessary.
Technical ability to create and utilize reports, analyze results in fundraising software.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Proven ability to create materials and presentations that explain the Y's community impact to potential donors.
Experience with military affiliations is preferred.
Bilingual preferred, but not required.
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & MILITARY PROGRAMMING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in collaboration with the VP/Chief Development & Marketing Officer to plan, implement, and manage development strategies designed to meet the YMCA Annual Support Campaign goals and objectives.
Oversee and manage donations, stewardship, reporting functions, monthly and yearly donor acknowledgment processes.
Work with center leadership staff, including identifying potential volunteers, donor connections, and new sources of annual contributions.
Work with the Managed Services Organization (MSO) on all Y Development charts of work.
Plan, organize and implement a marketing and communication plan of publications, advertisements, direct mail, educational opportunities, donor recognition, and personal visitations to identify and work with prospects to realize annual and long-term giving relationships with the Y.
Plan, develop and execute virtual, online, and other digital campaigns and events in a technologically proficient environment.
Oversee and manage all annual development events including military-related events in collaboration with the Marketing, Communication, and Development Department.
Logistical planning and implementation of all Annual Support Campaign training and meetings.
Gather and distribute "Stories of Impact" by collaborating with centers to share the impact of the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region through a variety of communication vehicles.
Oversees grant processes to include identifying potential grant opportunities, writing of the grants, and preparing reports for sponsoring agencies.
Develop and assist in the budget planning process for development and military initiatives.
Act as military liaison for the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region to the Armed Services YMCA as well as other military-affiliated agencies and the military installations within the Pikes Peak Region.
Work in collaboration with the VP of Programming to develop a military chart of work and strategic plan to expand military programming and initiatives as it relates to the YMCA.
