JOB INFORMATION

Job Title:

Special Education Administrative Support

Reports to:

Educational Leader

Hours:

40 Hours / 11 months

Office Location:

Brooklyn Center

Salary Range:

18.00-24.00/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a special education administrative assistant, you assist the special education director or supervisor with fulfilling their job duties. You provide technical and administrative support in the special education department office to meet the unique needs of all students.

The Special Education Administrator Assistant must demonstrate a strong work ethic, have integrity, and is accountable to his/her actions. He/she will align himself/herself with NMAs core principles and understands the unique challenges of an immigrant and refugee community. A successful SpED will also have experience in a high performing fast-paced environment.

Assists Case Manager, Special Education Director/ Program Coordinator and other individuals in tasks

Coordinates, schedules, attends, and documents IEP meetings for updates and assessments.

Works with outside medical providers and educational institutions to gather medical records and

information for the assessment of services.

Monitors and tracks all documentations for billing purposes

Collaborates with related service providers and assists staff in the implementation of accommodations and modifications.

Supports and assists the SpEd Team in completing case notes and documentations.

Plans, coordinates, and facilitates meetings and departmental training.

Works directly with enrollment teams to gather necessary documentations for assessment.

Other administrative tasks assigned within the special education department to ensure compliance and successful implementation of day-to-day operations.

QUALIFICATION::

The primary qualifications for this position include a high school diploma, equivalent experience and education, or experience providing administrative assistance in any environment.

High School Diploma or GED

Extensive knowledge of special education procedures and protocols to ensure compliance

Knowledge of general office procedures, practices, and etiquette

Knowledge of general record keeping maintenance routines to perform data in hard copy or data filing systems

Familiarity with general office productivity software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, access, presentational software, email programs, etc.)
