Production Supervisor (Project Management)

Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join Seamless Mill team located in Pueblo, Colorado.  As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for all day to day manufacturing and quality operations on the seamless mill. This position is accountable to the General Supervisor for the Seamless Mill.

  • Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
  • Conduct shift safety meetings and daily tool box talks, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations
  • Use LEAN tools from the EVRAZ Business System engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
  • Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
  • Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including; hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Conduct performance evaluations for probationary employees
  • Supervise the Seamless Mill Quality Assurance Inspectors
  • Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues in a timely manner
  • Manage, organize, and inventory mill parts and tooling. Work directly with Truck Chaser, Plug Turner and other team members to prioritize ordering of parts and mill tooling
  • Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
  • Maintain and correct electronic and written records including; shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
  • Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and applicable company policies
  • Write and issue Improvement Action Reports (IARs) as needed per company policy
  • Process and document grievances as the first step in the grievance resolution process.
  • This position may be required to cross train into other supervisory roles within the Seamless Department

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years of industrial supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
  • Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
  • Proven ability to professionally communicate with all levels of personnel, in written and verbal forms
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
  • Ability to multitask

Compensation

  • $71,800 - $82,570
