Field Service Engineer (Finance)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Consults with clients and end-users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specificationsStudies blueprints, schematics, manuals, submittal documentation, engineering mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and operating control sequences or other specifications to plan, verify, or validate water source heat pump applications and system designs for correct performance and effectivenessServes as customer-facing technical resource to gather information and collaborate with engineers and other senior staff as needed for analysis to determine effective end user support and timely issue resolution planningStays abreast of technology trends and new products and prepares customer and tech service representatives to support new or revised productsPromotes knowledge transfer to influence positive change and strengthen the teams performancePrepares and plans training for Tech Service members to support products in the field: operational and problem solving sequences, equipment operation features, and rework methods/instructionsPrioritizes current issues to maximize support effectiveness and efficiencyTargets field problems of medium to high complexity or special sensitivityInstalls or oversees installation of equipment according to manufacturers specificationsSets up and operates system to demonstrate equipment and analyze anomalies or identify defects or malfunctionsUsing WSHP system analysis techniques responds to the complex application issues for end users onsite or remotelyIdentifies problems and coordinates appropriate corrective actionIdentifies and minimizes potential risksPrioritizes and implements approved system modifications, programs, and other such requests of medium to high complexityMay serve as a project team member on project implementations; independently completing assigned tasks of medium to high complexity resulting in successful, on time and on budget projectsDirect the work of technicians or onsite contractors to complete corrections or resolutions and assure customer needs fulfillmentCommunicate with customers or customer representatives to achieve or enhance understanding of ClimateMaster equipment and products and operation, maintenance, and service of theseProvide technical training about ClimateMaster equipment to prepare and facilitate customer support in the field, especially for medium to complex issuesContinuously seek updated awareness of ClimateMaster needs and opportunities to improve our products and services to achieve (1) reduced external quality costs (2) more reliable products, and (3) greater customer satisfactionIdentify and communicate opportunities from personal observation and VOC to enhance serviceability of ClimateMaster productsCapture field experiences and the Voice of the Customer to ever improve training and preparation of Tech Service members to achieve Customer Satisfaction and move continuously toward One Call One DayInitiate corrections and improvements, as needed, based on planned observations, and product/process occurrences to product design, manufacturing, and service provisionComplete other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2 years HVAC experience OR Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university with a technical curriculum concentration and 5 years Water Source Heat Pump applications experience OR Eight (8) years of HVAC experience with four (4) years of Water Source Heat Pump applications including 2 years of trouble-shooting or problem solving. HVAC journeyman certificate (can be expired) a plus
Experience: 2 years HVAC installation and trouble-shooting, minimum.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Certificates & Licenses: Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus; certification as a Quality Engineer by the American Society for Quality is a plus
Other Requirements: Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred.
