Assistant General Counsel (Legal)
The Assistant General Counsel is needed to perform a full range of legal services in support of Alliance Health under the supervision of the organization's Deputy General Counsel. Primary emphasis will be on compliance with the North Carolina Medicaid 1115 and 1915 b/c waivers and Tailored Plan requirements, including all aspects of contract compliance. Employee will draft and review contracts, all legal documents and pleadings for courtroom and administrative litigation, represent Alliance in related hearings, negotiate settlements of cases, prepare legal opinions on rules and operations of the agency, and resolve complaints or answer inquiries on a wide range of legal issues. Employee will work in conjunction with Alliance General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel based on specific situations. Employee may represent the agency in appeals before Administrative Law Judges or in other courts of various jurisdictions. Employee may argue cases before the North Carolina appellate courts, assist the agency in drafting policies or internal rules, and perform related duties as required. Employee will provide day to day legal counsel to Alliance staff as needed or assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties
Graduation from a recognized school of law and three (3) years of experience in the practice of law. License to practice law in the State of North Carolina is required.
