IDEA Clinical Data Senior Analyst-IDEA Healthy Opportunities and Outcomes (Finance)



Reporting to the Director, IDEA Data Science & Clinical Outcomes within the Healthy Opportunities & Outcomes division, the IDEA Clinical Data Senior Analyst serves as a mentor and role model to other analysts while providing data-driven insights through reporting and analysis in support of Healthy Opportunities & Outcomes-focused strategic initiatives within Population Health at Nemours Children's Health. This highly technical position is focused on building out complex and comprehensive data packages that allow internal stakeholder teams to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and processes, highlight disparities, understand the impact of how met and unmet needs affect patient health factors over time, provide benchmarks to both internal and external data, and allow for setting accurate and attainable targets to achieve operational goals. The IDEA Clinical Data Senior Analyst supports the contextual and technical development within the analytics team and provides timely data to support the priorities of the organization.

The ideal candidate for the senior level must have demonstrated technical expertise building advanced SQL queries, visualizing data and analyzing complex outputs in a healthcare setting. The IDEA Clinical Data Senior Analyst will be a subject-matter expert regarding how clinical workflows translate into technical requirements to develop top notch analytic products and enhancements. The ability to not only build out stellar data packages but also utilize best practice data validation techniques to ensure a high level of data integrity is critical to this role. This role must also have a robust knowledge of how to identify, aggregate, transform, and validate data from different data sources in the reporting environment. The senior analyst will consult with internal stakeholders to determine data needs and then will design and provide comprehensive data packages in support of Population Health initiatives that align with organizational strategic objectives. This may involve overseeing the data output of other more junior analysts on the team in support of these requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration between analytics and other service lines to gather deliverables requirements, develop analytic products, and maintain and enhance products (data extraction, data cleaning, benchmarking, data validation, and reporting/dashboard development) utilizing approved tools and software.
  • Design, create, and maintain comprehensive datasets, reports, and dashboards utilizing system approved appropriate tools and adhering to IDEA brand standards and requirements within defined timelines.
  • Analyze and interpret data using advanced analytics methods to provide data-driven insights to clinical and operational stakeholders particularly on complex reporting needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of projects and standard operating procedures for analytic products.
  • Provide consultative expertise to key stakeholders, identifying issues, proposing solutions as well as keeping them informed of progress and potential risks of their requested analysis projects.
  • Act as the subject matter expert of healthcare clinical operations and operational processes, and how they impact organizational outcomes.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IDEA data products following security frameworks with the organization and follow all rules and regulations governing the use and sharing of protected data both internally, as well as transfers of data external to the organization.
  • Demonstrate the initiative to question the validity and accuracy of data and make recommendations that improve upon the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive initiatives within the system.
  • Possess self-directed autonomy to work independently and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree required.

    • Epic Cogito certification required

    • Epic Caboodle certification required

    • Epic Clarity certification required

    • Epic data clinical model certification preferred


    • Minimum of five (5) years' experience providing data analytics in a healthcare setting is required
