Project Director (Finance)



This is an exciting opportunity for a process-oriented, go-getter who wants to become a key part of a forward-thinking, integrated team as a Project Director. The Project Director is responsible for proactively leading the day-to-day management of creative marketing, advertising, and PR initiatives in partnership with account colleagues. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be devoted to providing top-notch internal client service and is committed to seeing the big picture, while keeping an eye on the small details. Oftentimes at the center of complex initiatives, your primary role is to bring an integrated team's vision to life within the scope of the project by leading the integration of creative components from account, planners, creative teams, producers, and media strategists (among others). You will be the common thread on projects, managing schedules and deliverables on all initiatives. In addition, this role will have some client contact.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Own planning and defining scopes in partnership with Account and Production leads; collaborate with account in the development of Statements of Work.
    • Work with our Resource Management team to fulfill staff plans, aligning planning/creative/producer needs and project staffing requirements. Provide Resource Management team with pipeline for upcoming project needs.
    • Leverage project management best practices and tools to oversee, manage, and communicate the status of multiple, concurrent project initiatives.
    • Ensure the quality and consistency across all projects according to client objectives, strategy and KPIs.
    • Own and maintain project schedules, project briefs, cost estimates, project financial management (OOP & fee) and other relevant project documentation.
    • Partner with Finance team to ensure projects are profitable, fees are appropriate, and SOWs are approved.
    • Work with Production Business Affairs and the Producers to ensure all talent and business requirements are completed on production engagements.
    • Independently manage risks and provide solutions-oriented consultation to integrated team leads, proactively raising scope creep and collaborating with leads to strategically identify and implement win-win solutions; manage SOW change order procedures as warranted.
    • Drive workflow among integrated teams, communicating status, next steps, and ownership on a regular basis.
    • Partner with the integrated team leads to proactively look around corners and resolve project-related issues.
    • Opportunity to manage junior project managers in project-based and/or career growth capacities, as appropriate.
    • Balance a sense of urgency with a calm and confident leadership at all times.

Qualifications:

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • This role requires 6-8 years project management experience working in an agency environment and on an integrated account.
    • Must be highly skilled in time management and critical thinking to facilitate involvement in multiple projects efficiently and in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of strategy, and creative deliverables, and project management methodologies.
    • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, influencing and communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet (or other similar project management tool) is required.
