Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Finance)

Team Overview:
This position will be part of an agile team of engineers and testers focused on delivering resilient performant software systems that capitalize on business opportunities and mitigate business risks. The technical team members work in a highly collaborative manner with our business counterparts. “Success” is viewed as a team accomplishment and not just as individuals. There is strong emphasis on collaboration, common vision, and ownership. This ownership transcends the development effort to include the operational processing of the production implementation. All team members are expected to be active participants in the envisioning, design, and development process – this includes proactively suggesting improvements and alternatives along with keeping an open mind to the suggestions offered by other team members.
The Role:
The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will work on our highly trafficked and highly available systems, leveraging system engineering, and debugging expertise to implement and enhance auto-detection & auto-remediation tools and processes. The person in the roles will take ownership of production uptime and stability. The primary responsibilities of the SRE are the availability, performance, efficiency, proactive monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and operational support for our product platforms and services responsible. Along with these responsibilities, the SRE will use infrastructure-as-software tools to define and deploy consist reproduceable environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and implement continuous improvements to improve mean time to recover (MTTR) and mean time to failure (MTTF). Serve as a primary point responsible for overall health, performance and capacity of our services.
Conduct root cause analysis and identify relationships between processes and events
Participate in design and code reviews to stress concepts of monitorability, resiliency, auto-recovery, and anti-fragile design
Proactively build and implement services as needed to enhance monitoring, alerting, and recoverability
Quickly diagnose production issues, document designs and procedures, scaling the infrastructure to meet demands and proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, while participating in on-call rotation
Write Infrastructure as code using Terraform for AWS (ECS, ALB, S3, SNS/SQS, Elasticsearch, RDS, CloudFront etc..), Execute and manage the CI/CD pipeline for the Program
Education/Experience and Competencies:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
7+ years in production support for an enterprise-level platform with high-availability requirements along with a strong understanding of concept pertaining to system availability, resiliency, and recoverability
Prior experience managing a production platform deployed in a cloud infrastructure (AWS)
Programming/scripting experience with Python or Node.
Experience with Java may be an alternative
Working knowledge DevOps responsibilities: infrastructure-as-software tools (Terraform experience is a strong plus) along with CI/CD implementation best practices

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the able to work independently with minimal supervision
Highly-collaborate team player who can build strong relationships at all levels of the technology and business organizations
