CNC Machinist (Nakamura Lathe) - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)



Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Nakamura Lathe machines 
  • Analyze and interpret blueprint, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
  • Plan machine set ups, position work piece and operate various CNC machines through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to specified tolerances.
  • Deburr parts as needed.
  • Monitor machine functions to ensure that parts are manufactured to defined specifications
  • Perform first piece inspections and make necessary adjustment to machine to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances.
  • Complete inspection reports as required and repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally.
  • Communicate with managers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.
  • Act as subject matter expert and train co-workers as requested
  • Document outstanding issues either written or verbally to ensure smooth transition between shift
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability of Jetstream
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives and advise Production Supervisor of any maintenance problems that may need to be resolved.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift (Hours: 3:30pm – 2:00am, Monday through Thursday)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe, required.
  • Twin spindle experience, preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawing.
