Checkpoint Security Engineer - Fully Remote (Finance)
The Checkpoint Security Engineer should provide technical leadership to deliver enterprise network security architecture, engineering, and implementation to reduce the threat of network & Firewall-based risks. Provide guidance and leadership to determine, develop, plan, test, troubleshoot and implement network security protection and solutions including Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Zscaler ZIA and ZPA and Extrahop.
Strong Checkpoint R80 firewall skills are a requirement for his position. This candidate is responsible for identifying risks associated with network security and mitigating or remediating them in accordance with organizational policy. Contribute to 24x7x365 days of on-call staff coverage.
This candidate will ensure that Firewall and Network security is integrated into business processes to sustain a successful Security program. The candidate should also be able to use current technology and capabilities as well as designing network security using new proven technology.
This includes DevSecOps and infrastructure as code deployments and design using solution such as ansible. Will focus on continuous improvement within the area and assist initiatives and special projects within their portfolio of solutions. Partners with Service Owners to establish the creation of Technology roadmaps to ensure that the Security program is Current, Resilient and Secure.
This position will have the skills and capabilities required to deliver on our business and technical commitments. Will participate in efforts to provide cost and effort estimates for significant new demand.

Responsibilities
3+ years of relevant experience.
May substitute 2 or more relevant certifications for a year of experience.
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in 2 or more of the following information security principles: risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management.
Understand network protocols and packet analysis tools such as TCPDUMP and Wireshark.
Knowledge of and experience with security-related systems and applications, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and web content filtering.
Familiarity with information security publications (e.g., NIST 800-53), incident response, problem resolution, vulnerability remediation, computer forensic techniques and eDiscovery, reviewing automated security test results, and network and host-based firewalls.
Ability to work with multi-discipline teams and cross-functional management and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other groups.
