Languageline Solutions® is looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is dynamic and excited about being part of a fast-moving and growing team. You will collaborate across the organization to execute the most important company priorities.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of complex, high-impact features while mentoring software engineers and driving architectural improvements. You will work across multiple systems to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability. This role requires deep technical knowledge and a proactive approach to solving challenging engineering problems.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the end-to-end development of major features and platform components.
  • Make architectural decisions and implement scalable, secure solutions.
  • Guide and mentor Associate and Software Engineers.
  • Identify and resolve technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to improve Cl/CD, observability, and system reliability.
  • Participate in cross-functional technical discussions and architecture reviews.
  • Support LLS' Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division's processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role is listed below. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. Experience and education refers to LanguageLine Solutions' current salary range for this position. US Remote pay range is $140,000 - $150,000 USD.

The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
  • Strong proficiency in web development frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
  • Strong proficiency in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and system performance.
  • Expertise in cloud-native development and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Event-driven architecture experience.
  • Leadership in cross-functional initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • Responsibilities require a flexible work schedule.
  • Use a computer, laptop, and desktop for up to a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Use a telephone handset and/or headset throughout the work day.
  • We work in an open collaborative environment, you will likely be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e., discussion, computers, printers, or light traffic).

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10% travel requirement for this position.
